An Overview of the Encore Swing Band  

            Formed in the fall of 2006, The Encore Swing Band started as a group of adults who just wanted to get together, blow the dust off their axes, and jam.  The prerequisites for membership quickly became noticeable as "the 30 and over gang".  Some retired music educators, some current band parents to children in the Citrus High School Band program, one current music educator and some active community orchestra members who all felt the need... the need for SWING !!!
            We meet once a week to crank up those old favorite big band tunes reminiscent of Glenn Miller, Harry James, Nate King Cole, Frank Sinatra era. Along with some standard danceable favorites.  The group adopted the name as ENCORE, going on the premise of this being another go around, in this particular musical venue, for most of us. 
            Under the direction of Mrs. Charlene "Chaz" Iannaci, Encore began "gigging" in December of 2006.  We've been asked many times to appear as the opening act for the Citrus High School ensemble known as The Citrus Swing Band.  It's been a pleasure to not only jam with these fine young adults but to have also built a relationship of mentor, instructor, comrade and friend. Since December 2008, the Encore Swing Band has been pursuing gigs within the community
